When I took piano lessons, practising arpeggios was never my strong point, so I take great pleasure in listening and dancing to and showing great appreciation whenever someone uses them to stunning effect; ‘Wings of Happiness’ is an arpeggiator’s wet dream. In its original inception it’s a minimal tickled and teased affair. Then Simone Vitullo gets to grips with it, beefs up the bottom end and spices it up with snippets of the ‘Club Lonely’ vocal and it becomes a dark, pounding, disco treat. It gives you wiggly, giggly wings.
