With the credentials of those involved this is rightfully gaining attention
with all the usual suspects. This new Roland Clark joint sees the ‘Flowerz’
vocalist in more Urban Soul spoken word territory with commanding soulful
vocals instructing you to “stomp, shake and have a good time” over funky
four-on-the-floor grooves and some wildly infectious chords. As an added
bonus, Mr V delivers a swinging, although at times overly monotonous
reconstruction, while the 5 Beats mix (named after the Paris/NYC party with
Franck Roger & Alix Alvarez) is a straight-up simple shoo-be-doo repetitive
jammin’ dub with a cool ’80s vibe.
