Sandy Turnbull’s ‘The Most Fantastic Thing’ is arguably most associated with seminal label Soulfuric Deep, and now the track is being given a new lease of life with Galleria records. Turnbull’s original effort was really the catalyst for his becoming a respected and established DJ and producer. Danny Krivit, NYC disco heavyweight featured on the track, giving it that extra weight and all-star attraction. It was also the catalyst for getting Soulfuric Deep back in the game, so to speak. And now, 4 years after the original release, Sandy has cast his eye back to the time of the original release. It was a recent residency at Sheffield’s Fez club that inspired his going back to re-work what was already a classic. This is certainly an excellent re-working of the stunning original that spent over 2 weeks at the very top of the Traxsource charts. It is fair to say Galleria have nailed it with this one. On top of the original raw acid house, Turnbull now layers new drums, perfect for his live sets, bound to be enjoyed by dancefloors up and down the country.
