Jolly pop, jolly pop, ooh jolly jolly pop. A warm, ‘welcome back’ goes to Santigold who previews her third studio album ‘99c’ with this deceptively jolly and upbeat single ‘Can’t Get Enough Of Myself’. It’s a pean to our current obsession with all things branded, packaged and marketed – inlcuding our daily lives – whether by ourselves or forces outside. It’s upbeat, uptown funk with a frisson of Soweto township around the edges and a sassy lyrical sting in its tail. It could easily make the daytime radio playlist grade if the right sync happens. Jolly nice and jolly good fun too.
