Germany’s “Mood Music” have been on quite a roll of late, helped in no small way with their countries ascendance to the top of the house hierarchy. They are normally associated with a more minimal sound but this one was straight in the box as soon as we heard it’s more than subtle nod towards full blown house on the flip. A Side “Gota” is a subtle affair, bouncy bass notes, fluttering synths and a general air of early eighties New Romance electro pop. Excellent early hours tackle. Flip over, however, for a real dancefloor gem, a prodding bass workout which slipped just perfectly into our sets. It sounds a little like the long lost brother of Alex Neri’s “House Track”, and follows that tunes pattern of a building bassline riff and elegant drums.
