Sedat The Turkish Avenger

Back in 2000 the Crydamoure label released an amazing EP under the guise ‘The Turkish Avenger’ by the little know Sedat Erdogan. The producer of Turkish origins was born and raised in Belgium, and thanks to the likes DJ Sneak, Paul Johnson and Daft Punk got the house bug in a big way. ‘Da Fist Funk EP’ followed a few years later and was another no-holds-bared seat-of-your-pants hi-octane bombastic assault on the filters (as did material under his Billy Lo alias), but it’s still taken the best part of a half a decade to come up with a new single. Thankfully the equally seductive ‘Sunrise’ is well worth the wait echoing of the stylings of the label’s Alan Braxe. It’s another of those hypnotic instrumental disco loopers that melds funky bass with cutting edge electronica – think ‘Rubicon’ or ‘Discopolis’ and you’re in the right ballpark. Typically energized, typically French (or not as the case may be) and typically guaranteed to raise the tempo at any party to sweltering.
