Re-Birth has to be one of the hottest labels on the planet with an amazing back catalogue of monster dance anthems all with Buzz chart status thanks to some amazing A&R work from label head Shield. ‘Friend’ is very special and something which only comes around once a decade! deep meaningful vocals over one of the best string breakdowns for many years. In it’s heart it’s a pop song but so much more, with plenty of nods to early Moby or Massive Attack productions you can see where we’re going. Most of the killer reactions from a who’s who of DJ’s go for the Raphael Ripperton and Alex Attias remix with it’s driving bassline and minimal vocals. A great package is topped of with Sandy Rivera twisting things a little further but keeping the magic of the original. Haunting and spine chilling but uplifting at the same time, making your heart do funny things.
