The type of record that doesn’t quite fit anywhere and that is yet familiar-sounding, ‘Start It Up’ is a solid slice of hypnotic electronic house, a kinda housey take on NY punk-funk in the vein of those old Hardkiss’ productions. Deep and still retaining urgency, the track instantly grabs you for unfolding far more content than the usual dance choon (chunky bline, feedbacky guitars, out-of-control synths, analog delay fx, mantra-type spoken vocals), this truly sounds like the work of proper musicians.
