Moving steadily towards their 100th release, DJ Spen’s Quantize Recordings deliver their latest single “Without Your Love”, which in my opinion would have been a perfect 100th release. But we of course don’t know which belter the Baltimore resident has in his backyard?! However, legendary US Disco and later House pioneer John Morales and DJ Spen are Spencer Morales and they present an incredible composition complete with mixes that are destined for heavy dance floor rotation on the more Soulful floors. You will love Randy Roberts’ soulful and energetic song about finding his true love and never letting her go!. His style is exceptional and his vocal delivery is unparalleled-something we quite miss these days in House music.
This release contains several choice mixes. John Morales’ M+M Mix is an instant classic Disco fused cut featuring 11 minutes of synergized soul. You also get John’s M+M Dub and Instrumental that corrals every element of his superior mixing skills. Spen & Thommy’s mixes are directed straight towards the dance floor. Their Heavy Vibe Mix is full of treats and twist while their main vocal version showcases Randy’s amazing vocal ability. The experts among us do hear some familiar melodies but hey, there’s nothing wrong about this as long as it is executed the way it is here. This is essential soulful House music innit.
