The Boardroom Vs Andrew Weatherall
Spread The Hot Potato
Rotters Golf Club

Steve Boardman is the main man at Boardroom Studios, based in the depths of Rotters Golf Club, where a group of musicians and producers work alongside him under the name The Boardroom. Mr Boardman also works with RGC El Presidenti Andrew Weatherall. So what we’ve got here then is 8 cuts of electronic boffins having a good time, with a lovely bit of tit for tat going on. My favourite is Rad Rice under his Radical Majik moniker, with the lead track ‘Spread The Hot Potato’, which breezes in on desolate atmospherics, before a low slung skunk loaded 4/4 groove kicks in, making you wish it was 3am and you was in a smoke filled cellar completely twatted, or worshiping the sunrise on a haystack in a field in East Grinstead, as fuzzy layers build alongside key flourishes and lolloping percussion. The Weatherall Mix is sparser with a slight Ennio Morriconi feel, but it still retains that spaced out & chunky but dubby into the 90’s vibe, which Andrew Weatherall pioneered. Marvelous.
