TIM BAKER
NEXT GENERATION EP
ELEPHANTHAUS

Ah, a bona fide blast of Motor City-Chicago magic courtesy of a man responsible for over 40 releases since he launched his Elephanthaus label in ’97. This is proper house tackle with techno underpants, kicking off with prime jacking acid on the Phuturesque ‘Destroy Acid’ before going minimal and spikey on ‘D Fender’. ‘Wrong Turn’ brings out the roots of Tim’s Detroit birthplace more fully with a feel not unlike UR in bouncy mode. The closing ‘Credence’ is an unexpected dabble in spectral Nu groove deepness with scattershot keys and dark embellishments. An across-the-board representation of a prodigiously individual talent.
