The original, released in March, has been a constant source of unabashed slavering since it appeared a few months back. Tom started DJing and producing music during a stint in New York City, before returning to London, but some of that Big Apple deep house sheen obviously brushed his loins as evidenced when he created the glacial, insidious original – perfectly in tune with the pendulous scrotum of this mighty label. The renowned Harold Heath also contributed a typically gorgeous swirl of a remix but now the tune’s been handed to Vancouver’s Jay Tripwire, who contributes two sparse but deadly corkers. His 8 Channels Mix rides car-horn keyboard motif peppered with fizzes and whooshes over a bass which pings like the elastic on a Thompson’s Gazelle y-fronts. The Revenge Of The Juno 106 mix makes a few adjustments with similar feel, before Jay uses ‘Love Potion’ as inspiration for his own reinterpretation, driven by fat chunky bass, rounding off a brilliant slab of classic deep house goodness.
