You know when an underground tune is kicking around for a while and just seems to gather more and more steam the longer it’s around ? Tom Zanetti’s ‘Darlin’ is doing just that. A three note bassline, simple snares and claps and a lazy, drawled spoken vocal jet propel it to the heart of the dancefloor. Then ‘hey hey’ chants, soaring whizzy effects and those cheeky production tricks that make even the worst drugs kick in, whip it up like a giant cappucino machine. It’s fierce, it’s frothy and it’s a nu house banger set for chart domination. I’m so into this.
