After a couple of huge outings on Subliminal, Who Da Funk have jumped ship and crossed the pond, landing at Hed Kandi with the smooth and rather polite ‘The Night’, which is built around The Fatback Band’s 1983 classic ‘Is This The Future’, utilising virtually all of the electro elements of the track, and adding some nice girly vocals, with a sprinkling of percussion and guitar licks. Eric Kupper is up first at the mixing desk, keeping the 80’s vibe, but losing The Fatback Band and going for an electro pop feel, while Tom De Neef toughens it up a bit with some bump’n’roll.
