There are lots of reasons why this is good. Not least of all because Alexander East’s yearning, soulful vocals remind you that the power of song is not yet lost. Yousef’s original version feels deep yet invigorating with cool piano and imaginative rhythms lending this a distinctly individual flavor. Heavyweight remixes come from the excellent Catz ‘n’ Dogz who give it a dangerous edge with Acid bass alongside pulsating beats and a definite hint of 1988. Fred Everything’s Lazy Vox Remix Edit then adds a sense of tough melody to the song with a sizzling electronic bassline igniting the voice next to his Dub that strips it all back to reveal more of the first-rate instrumentation.
