Kreon – Valtera EP (SERIALISM) (2/12)

Cutting Edge record label ‘Serialism’ owned by Cesare v Disorder has been a platform for some of minimal house/techno’s greatest producers
over the years. Records released on this label really sound like no other. What better label to feature Athens’ own Kreon, whose signature jazz infused, percussive sound has been released on the likes of Cecille and Robsoul, than Serialism.

This record features a 2 track A-side and a 1 track B-side of stripped back no nonsense minimal.

Up first we have ‘Hualter’. This bouncing bundle of minimal joy serves up seven minutes of wonky synths, glitchy haunting vocals taking
you on a captivating journey.

Next up is ‘Forpsyche’, deeper and more stripped back than the previous, but by means less intricate or interesting. Clever sound design
punctuated with freaky samples over a bulky bassline makes it a groovy number which I expect to here in more intimate venues across the globe.

Last but not least is the B-Side track ‘Valtera’. This 12 minute delight really works you into a trance with its spacious rubbery drums,
filtered alien vocals and crisp percussion. Popping and ducking and diving as it goes, it is a masterful electronic composition with real soul. Buy the EP digitally and you will also get Forpyke, a raw minimal track that sends shivers up your spine with its
haunted lead synth lines and high pressure snares and hi hats.

A cracking EP on a prestigious label.
