Taken from Asobi Seksu’s second album ‘Citrus’, ‘Strawberries’ sees breathy Japanese singer Yuki soar over a jingling jangling wall of sound, complete with a Phil Spector beat. But don’t be fooled by the uplifting ethereal vibe, ‘Strawberries’ veers off into a swirling mass of fuzz’n’stuff. There’s also a fine set of remixes from CSS, The Whip and Ulrich Schnauss. Asobi Seksu make slightly twisted floaty pop shot through with a dose of melancholy, that brings a 21st century Cocteau Twins to mind.
