The original plants the bassline from the long version of ‘Love To Love You Baby’ in Curtis Mayfield’s yard, paving the way for the mighty Roachford to return with a trademark classy soul vocal. There’s two versions of a Featurecast drum ‘n’ bass remix but it’s the mesmerising outing by the legendary Steinski which takes the cake, proving that the man who helped define the early 80s hiphop mash-up is still pushing the boat out, constructing a spaced-funk catwalk along which parade snippets of song and titanic bass undertow. Distinctly Norman Whitfield in vibe, it’s one of the most startling remixes to appear for a while.
