Yam Who’ rework the hit song lifted from Joss’ third opus ‘Introducing Joss Stone’, and while some reviews of the album have been less then favourable, her first collaboration with producer Raphael Saadiq has really grown on me, becoming a permanent fixture in the car CD changer. Yam Who’ keeps the essence of mmid-tempotoe-tapper with additional beats and piano as accompaniment, while a trio of versions of the Tom Jones-like ‘Put Your Hands On Me’ (including an acapella) only increases the value added appeal. Incidentally there’s also an equally funky house version of ‘Tell Me ‘Bout It’ from Jay-J knocking about for those in the know.
