Air France are two guys from Sweden, that make dreamlike soundscapes then shoot them through with rhythms and vocal samples, making the whole thing come over like a nostalgic look at summers past, conjuring up imaginary Super8 childhoods with blurred family images and melting ice creams on sand coated sticky fingers. “No Way Down” first saw the light of day in 2008 on Swedish label Sincerely Yours, going on to gain album of the week status in the places that matter, and ending up in quite a few Album Of The Year lists, and now at last it’s finally getting a well deserved UK release through Something In Construction. Think Air, Avalanches, Future Loop Foundation and Lemon Jelly all having a Balearic shimmy. The only way is up.
