‘Kim And Jessie’ is one of the standout cuts on the current M83 album ‘Saturdays=Youth’, but it comes as a bit of a surprise, because not only is it typically layered and shimmering with sonic textures, but it’s a pop song with choruses and hooks, and with a little help from Ken Thomas and Ewan Pearson it works big time. Remixes come from Data who keeps the melody but shoots it through with an electronic twist, and Montag who builds on the originals euphoria. Very nice.
