Sunday Best

This first surfaced some four years ago on the Italian Irma label when it became a firm favourite with the likes of Gilles Peterson. It’s easy to hear why he championed this funky ‘70s Eddie Kendricks-like pastiche and now the Sunday Best crew have seen fit to release this retro groover that smacks of Fatback and Con-Fun-Shun at their dirty bass-slapping best, and could quite easily feature in a modern day Blaxploitation flick. Add some new creations from Ashley Beedle and this once more makes an essential purchase.
