Max Sedgley
Something Special
Jalapeno

It seems like only yesterday that we were raving about the mystical charms of Max’s debut ‘Happy’ – it was actually the best part of six years ago, and in the interim the Londoner has enjoyed varying degrees of single success, yet none matching the instant impact of his first. Finally with the help of Jalapeno here’s a worth successor, not least thanks Tasita D’Mour sultry vocals and a stellar bassline straight outta the ‘70s Blaxploitation era. Mixes come from Spirit Catcher, Neighbour and Crazy P, with the latter the strongest on display and showing the greatest signs of longevity having picked up plays from the likes of Tom Middleton, Groove Armada, James Lavelle, Freemasons and Hector Romero. Incidentally Sedgley’s long over due sophomore album is due this summer.
