As is the tradition with !K7’s DJ Kicks, the mixing act provides a new track as part of their set. Hot Chip went back to Motown for their inspiration, with Diana Ross’s ‘My Old Piano’ providing the raw material – save for the vocals of course. Turning it into their hypnotically groovy style, the quintet have made a tune where the chorus lodges itself in your brain, and stays there for ages. Not to mention a fantastic bass line. The boys are still on form then – and here provide a bridge to their upcoming album, which we’re promised will be more live.
