The enigma that is Sparo has been turning out beats from his top secret North London Lab since the early nineties, dallying with drum & bass, before thankfully – for us focusing on hip hop. And straight from the psychedelic tripped out ‘falling’ vocal sample that starts this track you know its a winner, immediately after the wonderful strings glide in with a haunting flute refrain. All underpinned by a laid back groove with added funky clav, and were in blissed out groove heaven. Joey2tits Remix takes the track up a notch with some extra synth stabs while cutting up the strings in a more dance floor friendly fashion, ‘My Left Retina Remit’ mix takes it in a darker early Wu-Tang Clan style hip hop direction with added vocals. The ‘Mexican Institute Of Sound Remix’ add a bossa nova down tempo groove making the the most of the beautiful strings and flute refrain.
