This bunch of sleaze bags are believe it or not from Brighton, yet they sound more like they went to the same school as Detroit’s Dirt Bombs. The Lodge’s debut single ‘Piece Of Cake’ is scratchy garage rock with just the right amount of distortion on the vocals & just the right amount of thrashy funk in the in the loose rhythms. On the flip ‘Slapback’ is a wasted blues lament. The Lodge cite The Stooges, Velvet Underground, and Wire as their main influences, can’t argue with that.
