Regular readers will know that I consider the technicolour spewings of this bunch to be the hamster’s ring-piece, out there old school Balearic touched by madness and an eternal quest for sonic invention and dancefloor dishevelment. Here they give Jay Stoner’s ‘Stand On Up’ a good seeing to, throwing in stoned burbling, ‘There Is A Mountain’ flute and hallucinating sheep along with kitchen-sink efx over a demonically lysergic vamp. In return, Mr Stoner takes ‘Mr Palatino’ with female vocals, funked bass and dub brass and bursts of old Sugar Hill party poppers. A tinge of Orb surreal whoopee afoot too. They should both do the trick this summer.
