If you’ve been anywhere near earshot sets by Gilles Peterson, Derrick May or Francois K recently you more then likely heard this brilliant wordology from Ms Rucker. Waxing lyrical about life’s meaning: her moods, hang ups, feelings and sexual appetite, this oozes the soulful sophistication and poetic jazz charm of her contemporaries, Bahahmadia, Jeannie Hopper and Dana Bryant. A slick slice of afro-centric grooves created by King Britt, this single signals her upcoming ‘Ruckus SoundSysdom’ opus, and as you’d expect is pure downbeat poetry in motion.
