First in a series from the Tru Thoughts stable designed to showcase new talent, one-off signings and remixes / exclusive cuts from established artists. First things first, anyone who’s a fan of Prins Thomas should already be in the shop buying this, as it includes his re-edit of Quantic’s “Mishaps Happening”, a huge jazzual funk tune with shimmering guitar over loud fatback drums and a hooky chorus. Hammered by Gilles P since January, this is it’s first official release. In addition, there’s funky business from Israel (two tunes from Polar Pair), Nirobi & Barakas’ “Bungee Jump Against Racism” (mixed in fine style by Diesler), and Quantic Soul Orchestra’s “Walking Through Tomorrow (TM Juke mix)”. Phew! After an opening salvo like this, the pressure’s definitely on. Massive.
