Amy Winehouse
Rehab (Soulcast Remix)
(Island)

Never a more apt lyric as art imitates life and life art. The Ivor Novello
Award winning est Contemporary Song, from Amy¹s number one sophomore album, ‘Back To Black’ (that¹s newly repacked as a double CD set in time for
Christmas) is back for a second time. Written about her refusal to attend an
alcohol rehabilitation centre after her management team encouraged her to
go. I asked my dad if he thought I needed to go. He said: ‘No but I should
give it a try’. So I did, for just 15 minutes. I went in said ‘hello’ and
explained that I drink because I am in love and have fucked up the
relationship. Then I walked out, she told the Sun newspaper. Winehouse
later changed her management company! This fantastic futuristic dance remix
from Soulcast of the Mark Ronson production is backed with Kardinal Beats’
retooling of the languid ‘Love Is A Losing Game’ the fifth, and likely
final, single from the album.
