The self-taught producer and musician returns to the Detroit-sound that
helped establish him as the UK’s leading exponent in the 1990s with a brace
of low-tech offerings. At times his ‘sound’ is reminiscent of the
groundbreaking (and still highly relevant) Thee Maddkatt Courtship releases,
one of the more consistent pseudonym from Chicago producer Felix Da
Housecat. ‘Taurus’ in particular sounding like it would have found a home on
his Radical Fear label a decade ago. Yet neither of these zodiac labelled
tracks are old skool – just right for yesterday, today and tomorrow.
