Katy Perry
Ur So Gay
Capitol

With lyrics so flamboyant, fun and cheeky you’d be right in thinking Katy Perry could well be the female equivalent to Mika. Although she actually describes herself as a slimmer version of Lily Allen and a fatter version of Amy Winehouse! Her lyrics speak equal volumes: “I hope you hang yourself with your H&M scarf while jacking off listening to Mozart… You’re so sad maybe you should buy a Happy Meal. You’re so skinny you should really Supersize the deal.” Inspired by the whole Emo, Sensitive Sally-type scene as the infectious chorus lets you know:“You’re so gay and you don’t even like boys”. The EP also includes a club remix courtesy of Junior Sanchez; ‘Use Your Love’ (a new version of The Outfield’s hit ‘Your Love’); and ‘Lost’, a soul searching ballad that shows a more vulnerable side of the multi-talented star-in-waiting. Perry’s three-years-in-the-making album is due out in the spring and shows her labels commitment with input from an array of noted producers including Glen Ballard (Alanis Morissette), Dave Stewart (The Eurythmics), Dr. Luke (Avril Lavigne), Butch Walker (Pink), and Greg Wells (Mika).
