Yes I know it’s Whitney Houston, and I know it’s probably not that cool to like her, but true to the song’s lyrics, after 20 years in the business and having all her troubles splashed over the red tops for all to see, she can still pull it out of the bag when needed. On ‘I Look To You’, her first studio album in seven years, Houston has once again teamed up with her longtime collaborator and mentor, Clive Davis, along with an array of A-list writers and producers including R.Kelly, Swiss Beats, Stargate, and Alicia Keys who’s written her current radio hit, ‘Million Dollar Bill’. But for the clubs they’ve elected to go with this Diane Warren-penned / David Foster-produced number (which although pure schmaltz in its original downtempo version) is transformed thanks to a killer remix from Daddy’s Groove, while Madonna’s remixer of choice, Peter Rauhofer, add enough oomph to keep the loyal pink pound very happy too.
