Marcus Malone & the Motor City Hustlers ‘Interstate 75’, the title single from their recently released album, gets a tasty rework from the North Street West crew. Taking it back to the future Funk with bags of coolness, the No’West remixes inject finger snapping beats, hip swaying grooves, infectious brass, nasty Hammond and raw, soul-drenched vocals… Phew! This one sits right at home in the classics playlist (even though it isn’t one yet, it will be no doubt heading that way!), with its authentic retro fusions of 60’s Stax, Motown and Cadet, along with early 70’s Funk of Sly and The Family Stone, simply groovy baby!
