Medlar Shake It, Make It, Take It, Break It EP

You’re always going to grab our attention when you call a record label For Disco’s Only. That lusty glare will then remain on you if you unleash music as good as what said imprint have done here, with a rather joyful four tracker from London stalwart Medlar to kick off. ‘Shake it’ is proper nifty bottom heavy disco, full of natty production tricks and vocal snippets, and a track which is powered into even better territory when Mytron & Orofo give it a rerub which couldn’t be more reminiscent of early 80s Rimini if was tattooed on Daniel Baldelli’s arse.

‘Tonight’ is a bit more modern in vibes, even if the analogue feel is cranked up to max, with ‘Imaginary dub’ a decent shuffling early groover, replete with laser beam synths, to round things off. All in all resounding evidnce that FDO are hitting it from the off, and need to be on your ones to watch list.
