Nadsat – Counterpart1 (Catch Recordings) (13/06)

Nadsat is the boss at Catch and is someone who has, to date, made sure the label is in a class of one. With music from the likes of DoubtingThomas and others he has ensured it deals on the outer fringes of house and techno in an inventive and interesting place. His own three tracker is just as strong and keeps up the labels great run of form.

Up first is Throwing Stones, seven minutes of deep and misty techno with lumpy kicks deep down below the surface, scintillating synths fizzing away and a real sense of suspense. Then comes falling, a six minute symphony of sine waves and sound design, of punchy, off beat drums, soft focus melodic rain and warm atmosphere that is for the dead of the night. Finally, we are treated to Conflict, yet another interesting offering that drills deep into your mind with its heady and hypnotic techno drums, slithering synths and broody sense of pace. Overall these are three connoisseur cuts for dance floors who know their shit.
