Mark di Meo’s Soulstice label has only had four releases so far, but theses have been of the finest quality when it comes to soulful, sun drenched House sounds. For their fifth serving the label honours Nerio ‘Papik’ Poggi’s tribute album dedicated to his musical myths. The 2015 tribute album is dedicated to the greatest Singer Italy has ever had: Mina Mazzini. Mina is an unsurpassed performer known around the world for her incredible voice.
From the 50’s up to today, his albums are perpetually in the Italian charts and are exported to many countries.
Included as one of the most special songs of the album, ‘Brivido Felino’ is part of his exceptional collection.
Releasing non English music may be exotic but I personally think it’s a good move because patriotism is nothing bad, even in music.
The stunning voices of Stefy Gamboni & Daniele Bengi Benati work perfectly alongside the amazing beats from Francesco Cofano, Mark Di Meo, Gerardo Smedile and Submantra who all go for summer House Music of the finest approach.
My personal pick is the soulful instrumental bomb that is the ‘Mark di Meo Jazz Mix’, an extraordinary slice of soulful, jazzy House. I lift my cocktail and say ‘Salute!’
