Riva Starr’s ‘Snatch Off is up to its dizzying dance floor tricks again with Snatch Off 034 – a Paul C and Paolo Martini triple header. Production wise, Paul C and Paolo Martini go together like Oreos and milk, fish and chips, pizza and Peroni and even steak and frites. Their signature is deep tech roll outs with punchy effects, Rubik’s cube arrangements and depth charged bass sounds. ‘I Believe’ is an old skool rave up with nu school sensibility that works up a proper sweat : the cycling ‘I Believe’ vocal, walking bassline and circling metallic hi hats ring your Pavlovian bell like a boss. ‘Hotline’ is a hard stamping, percussive groove that has Ibiza dancefloor running through it like a shot of hierbas. They add a rave pad breakdown just to cause more mayhem which explains exactly why I love to play it. Sneaky. And to close ‘Gate 4’ moves like a greased up travelator through a seedy warehouse afterhours. You’ll need psychic Swarfega to get the loop out of your head. Three for the price of one and the value of ten? Can’t argue with that.
