Howell hasn’t done much so far but this texan dude’s getting unanimously praised. Based on an energetic guitar sample – could this be the Doobie Brothers? – “Funk It” is indeed very funky. A little spaced out at times yet truly inspired, the original mix soon turns into an epic excursion (think Hardkiss meets Planet Funk). The breaks mix on the flip is even rockier, seriously peaktime, with interesting structure developments.
