The second release on E-tcr brings you Mark Thornton’s debut. The original mix has got all the right bits but misses some much needed oomph and you understand why when his Cafe Del chill-out mix comes along (Chicane’s acoustic balearic guitar and a chord progression reminiscent of Bronski Beat’s ‘Small Town Boy’). Thornton is obviously attracted to trance for its musical qualities rather than its raving boost. Fresh from his ‘In The past’ biggie on Mike Koglin’s Noys imprint, Ross Assenheim’s gives ‘Now You See’ a clean, punchy makeover for all the peak-timers out there(138 BPM). The break taps into the usual evocative business with attention to detail and kicks back off in raging fashion.
