You’d be forgiven to think that banging is all there is to Mauro Picotto, yet the Italian dj/producer was a pillar of Media’s eurodance studios long before trancey-techno. Lifted off ‘Now & Then’ his last album on new (Media) imprint SW records, the original – funky minimal with techy edge and melodic elements – fits well with the current tide of twisted electro-house currently flooding the UK (skippy beats, fat bline and trancey breakdown). His meganite mix is more of the same only a little ravier.
