PIV Records have got Chris Stussy and Prunk to team up for the label’s first ever collaborative release. It finds the pair in fine form across four tracks of smooth house music with real heart and soul.
Tunnelvision is a lush deep house tune with rickety hits bringing that liveness and looseness> dreamy melodic rain falls in the background and the pads are super balmy, making for a nice escapist listen that carries you away into a dreamlike state. Polar hist a bit harder, but the woody drums are still stuffed with soul and authentic house party feelings that separate the tune from plastic, run of the mill house shite. Brooklyn Tears then gets more light-footed and airy, with a skippy bit of drum programming and some steamy female vocals that add an extra jazzy vibe and ensure this one finds its way right into your heart. A vinyl only dub is also included on the wax and That Groove is a bonus digital track that pumps an OG new York vibe with breezy vocals and rolling, lumpy drums that get you on your toes. As such this is pure house class from start to finish.
