There’s been a distinct new subtlety creeping into Minus’s recent releases which seem bent on causing their dancefloor damage at the same time as massaging the braincells into higher states of either euphoria or blind panic. Barem takes his time on these three new missiles, stretching out to around nine minutes on each. Having established the mood, an electronic flare going off now has major impact on ‘Seee’, which then becomes dominated by a distinctly-odd frequency wail which takes over allowing the intricate drum programming to do its damage. ‘Kolimar’ messes with vocal samples over its low-flying cruise-groove underpinned by titanic bass action. Bonus digital-only ‘Tres De Niul’ is deep, percussive and soulful with a lovely vibe.
