Austria’s DJ IQ resurrects an old Strictly Rhythm tag for his latest foray in marrying disco and tribal elements with piledriving techno. In the past, he’s collaborated with names such as Ben Sims, Umek, Kanzyani and Cave, which gives an idea of the frenetic dancefloor explosions going on here. ‘Roxana’ plants a grainy and very familiar guitar riff over a rolling, rumbling groove, adding wailing loop before a major drop designed to cause mayhem. ‘Stella’ is one of those locomotive tribal walls with Basic Channel riffage.
