This is a monumental release, even by the lofty standards repeatedly set by Plus 8 over the years, as the subtly driving, bass-propelled groove pulses into a dense meteor storm of swirling textures and particle showers, with mesmerising and curiously groin-hoisting results. The flip’s ‘PanScan’ is darker and more defined as metallic old school riff is joined by breathy effects, coruscating dynamics and masturbating wildebeests. Datasoul are actually Christopher Blackmann and Hannes Wenner, aka Minus veterans Niederflur, already responsible for a bevy of floor destroyers. This new project could be frightening, judging on these two glorious outings.
