Ye olde mystery debut so the music has to stand and fall on its own merits. This it does with donkey’s stiffie to boot, ‘Pop Bitch’ establishing a grungy momentum sprinkled with atmospheric tinkles which builds noisily to a fantastic starburst crescendo which brings in the acid bassline. ‘Subway’ goes deeper with malevolent bass rumble, making its point highly with slow, deliberate precision. The acid house sensibilities are evident and heighten both tracks on a very floor-friendly outing.
