WHITE NOISE

An old-fashioned album’s-worth of material here as the Bristol label introduces Japanese producer Cherry with six originals and two remixes. The title cut immediately makes a dent with its huge sine-bass, sparkling Detroit textures and jazz inflections [plus late 60s proto-synth suction noise!]. Nick Curly then takes the track for a rollicking house jaunt before new label singing Ruthit goes deep and resonant for yet another effective dimensional twist. The remaining five Cherry poppers range from further Detroit-homaging belters to ‘D2’’s jazz and African flavours. Well worth checking and definitely v.f.m.!
