Martin Patino & Enzo Elia
Metmorfosi Di Narciso EP
Young Odds

Another quality outing from Italy’s Young Odds label [having already played host to the Dolphins, Ajello, Luke Solomon and Alex Dolby]. Enzo has already popped up on labels like Mantra Vibes and One Louder and now teams up with Martin Patino for something a bit special and dripping with early hours headiness. The lead track is widescreen, subtle minimal which effectively brings in acoustic guitar and piano on the drop. ‘Humo Negro’ treads on risky Fast Show ground with the pan-pipes but they add to the deep, undulating feel established by the subterranean bass and groove momentum. ‘Erasmus’ uncorks lovely, ringing riffs against muted acid drops with that other-worldly Nu Groove flavour in some of the melodies. Good stuff.
