Third missive from the unlikely pairing that make up Motor, and it’s obvious they’ve got a certain kind of venue in mind for the dark analogue strafes that make up “Sweatbox”. Think early Acid Trax era Sleazy D remixed by Plastikman sharing a studio with Throbbing Gristle and you’ll have an idea of the potency of this slow-burner of an acid freakout. There’s a real sense of controlled energy here, especially when the sudden burst of drums unleashes a slowed down effect towards the end. Frenetic, dark electronic tension, perfect for those with a taste for darker edged electronic grooves, this should have them bouncing from the walls. The other cut, “Yak”, follows a more disappointingly linear groove and doesn’t generate anywhere near the same interest.
