TIAGO DE RENOR – AURORA (NOT ANOTHER) (09/05)

The Not Another label made a great start to its life with a top first release, and now follows that up with a stunning second outing. This one comes from Tiago de Renor, a producer from Brazil who is also a sound designer, engineer and Dj with some real chops. He works on labels like Not For Us, A Must Have and of course this one and here serves up two cuts that get remixed by Sonic Future and Be Morais.

Aurora is first up and is well named given how its melodies are like a twinkling night sky full of stars. Slick beats and bass drive the thing along and it is a true majestic main room cut as a result. Apollo is his other original and is a more deep and dark affair with rooted kicks and spooky synths that sound haunting. Full of atmosphere it will get the attention of any club. Aurora is the cut to get remixed, and it is Sonic Future & Shades of Light who remix. They do so with a soft and subtle approach that makes the tune a real spine tingler. Lastly, Be Morais adds a remix that is chunky and physical, with rock solid kicks and trippy, wavy synths that add real nocturnal flavour. Overall then this is a fine EP.
